My niece wasted acetone fingernail poilsh remover on my dresser?

My niece wasted acetone fingernail poilsh remover on my dresser and now there is a really rough spot on my dresser due to the acetone and I need to know how to remove the spot and make it smooth agian. Please Help!!!!!!My niece wasted acetone fingernail poilsh remover on my dresser?
Not good!! The best way to fix this would be to remove the finish from the whole top, lightly sand until smooth and check the color. If it is close enough polyurethane the top with at least 2 thin coats, more coats are better. If not close re-stain top and then poly. It will be difficult to get an exact match but it can be done.My niece wasted acetone fingernail poilsh remover on my dresser?
Sorry about the dresser and the fact that Dean is absolutely right! Only way to fix it is to strip the surface of the dresser and to mix and match until you find the stain to match and then poly it (3-4 coats for the same shine that a furniture store has and you'll need to lightly sand it between coats of poly). Good Luck! :-)
My adult daughter did the same thing to my kitchen table. I haven't done anything to it yet, as i leave it as a reminder to her. I always make her sit at the spot when she is invited for dinner.

The way to fix it is to sand and refinish the entire dresser top.
