When was the FINGERNAIL CLIPPER invented, and by whom?

What was the time period that early humankind cut their toenails and fingernails? How did they do it?When was the FINGERNAIL CLIPPER invented, and by whom?

How they were clipped before this invention though is a good question. I suppose people could easily bite off their fingernails when they got too long, but that still leaves the toenails. First, most people can't get their toes to their mouths. Second, those that can reach probably don't want to stick their toes into their mouths. I would assume that toenails were allowed to grow quite long and could then be removed with a common knife.
