Is it true that fingernail polish gets sticky when used under a ceiling fan?

A few people have told me that if I paint my finger nails while the ceiling fan is on in the room, the polish will become sticky in the bottle and extremely hard to use later. Is this true?Is it true that fingernail polish gets sticky when used under a ceiling fan?
This simply happens because the cold air being pushed into the bottle will dry out the alcohol in the polish. Because the alcohol is part of what keeps the polish's smooth, shiny consistency; after a while, all that is left is the ';sticky'; paint. If the bottle is left open, this process will happen regardless of whether or not there is a fan on in the room, just a lot slower.

tip: when using the polish, use a playing card or small piece of damp paper towel to cover the lid in between dips of the brush. This will keep the polish in the bottle from drying out.Is it true that fingernail polish gets sticky when used under a ceiling fan?
i dont think so but maybe i never even thot about that ( =
It does get a little sticky because there is air blowing at your hands and it will dry the polish quicker but make it hard to paint your nails. It also gets sticky if you try to polish them outside or in an area that gets really hot and humid.

  • My friend has like this black tar stuff in his fingernail?

My friend dropped a hammer on his finger but he didnt break it. A few day later there was this gross tar stuff in his fingernail. He is really weird so he took a safety pin and tried to put a hole in his fingernail. He barely had to push and it just collapsed and there was this hole in it. It was very gross to look at and thank god he finally put a band aid on it. Whats up with his finger and how should he fix it?My friend has like this black tar stuff in his fingernail?
He can't fix it, it will repair on it's own. In time the gross part of his nail will, as it grows will come to the end like the rest of his nails and he just keeps trimming it until only fresh nail is there. Finger nails and toe nails are calcium. They continue to grow and you cut them, yet they still grow.

The reason it looks tarrish is due to dried blood that was not absorbed by his finger. When he hit his finger with the hammer he broke the tiny blood vessels; they bleed under his fingernail and had no where to bleed out due to the tightness of his fingernail upon his finger. The blood caused the nail to rise a bit. When the majority of the blood was absorbed by his finger there was still remnants left that dried. The nail where it rose became a hollow, thus the nail collapsed as that part of the nail had been decayed.

Had your friend heated up a sewing needle and gently touched the surface of his fingernail over the spot where he hit it and the blood pooled, a small hole would have occurred and blood would have spurted out relieving the pressure. He'd have no caved in, tar looking finger nail now. The great thing about the needle trick . . . is it is totally painless and once the pressured is released his finger starts to not only feel better right away, but heals quicker. You can do this with toe nails as well.My friend has like this black tar stuff in his fingernail?
    You are most welcome.

It's really not a big deal. It's pretty normal for a traumatized finger(toe)nail to that. But tell your friend next time (hopefully it will never happen again) to use a hot needle and clean it afterward to cut down on infection.
That's dried up blood. He should just let the nail grow out. It will go away.

How do you get fingernail polish out of the carpet?

Nail polish remover, Baby, and a lot of elbow grease!

What you need to do is get some nail polish remover and pour a small amount upon the ';infected'; area. Get an old towel and dab that sucker. Don't rub because that's just going to spread the nail polish you're cleaning up.

After you get all the nail polish up, make sure to get water down on your carpet and dry it, unless you want water stains left behind.

Oh, and the nail polish may not all come out, but most of it should.

And, depending on the color of the carpet, you could always use bleach. How do you get fingernail polish out of the carpet?
I heard that simple green works. If you dont have that on hand try shaving cream, oxyclean, bathroom cleaner or a brillo pad. If all fail then just break out the scissors. I dont have carpet but if i did i would be trying all types of cleaning products. How do you get fingernail polish out of the carpet?
    Fingernail Polish Remover or Acetone
I think you are probably screwed. You might try a dab of polish remover in an inconspicuous spot (a closet maybe) to see if it will discolor the carpet. If not, you could try that.

If that's not an option, I would either call a professional carpet cleaner for additional advice or service OR you could cut out the square where the polish is and replace it with extra carpet (if you have any) or trade squares with a piece from the closet. (This may also be a job for a professional depending on your level of DIY expertise.)\
you could try fingernail revover but i mite lighten your carpet colour. but if its a light coluor then try it
let it dry if the area is not too big. then pick or shave the polish off. If you use fingernail polish remover, make sure that it will not bleach or stain the carpet. blot and scrub. good luck
If the stain is not very big try nail polish remover blot a little on the stain or use thin scissors and cut the carpet fibers that are stained.
well my naibors got a shampoo vacuum and it got it out instantly
Windex and three minutes of soft srubing works very well.

I cut my fingernail almost in half with a shaver and now my hand feels funny?

It was bleeding alot in the shower but I put pressure on it and it stopped after 5 mins or so.. my hand currently feels numb. What could this be? It is not blood loss I know that.. and could I get HIV from this happening ?I cut my fingernail almost in half with a shaver and now my hand feels funny?
it is probably numb because you hit a nerve. if it was deep then you could have caused some nerve damage which is causing the numbness. not necessarily permanent damage but you will just have to give it time to see. in regard to the HIV you would have to be more clear on the circumstances. HIV cannot survive for periods of time outside the body. so on a razor the virus would die before you used it. only place it has shown to survive outside the body is in syringes since it has the ability to not dry out.so what im trying to get it is no you are safe from HIV unless you had direct fluid contact with someone infected but not from a razor.I cut my fingernail almost in half with a shaver and now my hand feels funny?
No you can't get HIV thats a blood TRANSMITTED disease or sexually transmitted, It could just be you putting alot of pressure on it that sometimes stops circulation of the blood and causes it to feel numb. I fit's just numb maybe you should get it checked out.
It's probably just mild shock from the injury. And unless people with HIV have been shaving themselves in your shower and cutting themselves, there's no chance you can get HIV from it.
does your hand maybe feel like you cut your finger nail in half?

How do you make this part of your fingernail longer?

My fingernails look similar to toenails! They're not so bad that they're wider than they are long, but still! So, I'm just wondering, how do you make the part before the white growth of your fingernails longer? (The part that's attached to your finger.)How do you make this part of your fingernail longer?
you cant really do anything about that.. its all gentics.. so manybe if your moms or dads nails are like that.. that probably where you got it from.. but i would say the only thing you can do to make it look longer is to use fake nails.. thats the only way but for you to change it in any other way.. theres not.. just love what you got..How do you make this part of your fingernail longer?
just go to a nail salon that would help
There are certain polishes that make your nails grow.....

Go to your local drugstore or Target and look in the beauty section.I'd suggest a Sally Hansen product...they tend to work the best

Who thinks my Fingernail will grow back?

I slammed it above the cuticle but 1/3 of my nail is black. It has been two weeks and it does not hurt anymore. What do ya think??Who thinks my Fingernail will grow back?
Ah don't worry, my nail came off all the way! It was really gross and I was scared it would never grow back too but it did.

It just grows at the same rate as usual back to normal. It might take a while, depending on your nails but it will definitely grow back, I promise.

Hope this helped :)Who thinks my Fingernail will grow back?
Nah, it'll grow back eventually. If you want to increase the time maybe eat healthier, drink lots of water, etc.
itll go away in about a month, maybe more

    just keep your nails painted
