When you are losing a fingernail due to infection, should you leave it covered or uncovered?

..while the new one is growing in and the old one is falling off? When you are losing a fingernail due to infection, should you leave it covered or uncovered?
The best thing to do is to leave it uncovered but protected from infections. By keeping it uncovered it will dry up an begin to heal faster. If it stays covered it will remain soft from the moisture and an infection can set in at any time. While it is uncovered you must keep it clean and protected with some antibacterial ointment to prevent any infection. Once the new nail is more than halfway out you will have nothing more to worry about. Good luck. When you are losing a fingernail due to infection, should you leave it covered or uncovered?
leave it uncovered so it can air out. if u cover it u are only making it worse by making it all wet from moisture. i always leave my cuts open so they dont get infected ne more
