Why do some people grow out one fingernail extra long while keeping the others short?

Have you ever seen this? Every once in a while I see someone with one or 2 long fingernails and 9 or 8 normal cute ones.

It's awful isn't it, nowadays it is generally associated with people snorting cocaine and using it as a scoop, but it could be for other reasons such as a musician or an artist, my friend used to ';scrape'; paint from the canvas with his long nail.

I have known a couple of women that do that and the long ones be really long. It looks nasty. They do it because they are waiting for the other ones to grow that long too but it seems like it never happens. I don't think they cut the other ones. The other ones just don't grow as fast.
um well usally musician like gautar players, violim plays and probaly other musicians do but idk.
i have seen that too..it's soo weird and disgusting.....no offense..

Ok back in the day the ';gangstas'; kept a pinky nail long to snort coke from it. It's easy and always with you lol. Now since that was a sign of SOMETHING (apparently money or what not) the rappers and other society figures started to do it as a sign of money (i think), thus catching on to the social world.





I bet 80% of the people you see like that just saw it on tv or a movie and has no idea what the signigificance is lol.





Now if there is another reasno I dont know. I only know my answer cause I've asked the same question myself.
To unscrew screws or to poke their nose:) it's gross...
because they probably wishing that the rest will grow the same lol i be wondering the same thing sometimes
