You should try the remover,if not, then try paint thinner. Hopefully it's not a dark colored carpet. Good luck! What can i use to get fingernail polish out of the carpet?
Krudd Kutter from K-Mart
go to home depot or lowes or maybe even walmart.... it's called goop off.... inexspensive, volitile fumes however.... I've used it on my boston rocker to remove nail polish... didn't harm the finish... have also used it on my chenille sofa!!
Have you tried the nail polish remover? If you do try the non-acetone stuff. Hopefully it won't cause as much damage to carpet.
Hi

The best way to remove the finger nail polish is to let it dry and cut the tips of the carpet fibres. Trying to remove the nail polish with a towel and nail polish remover will likely cause the polish to smear into the fibre and make a bigger stain.

If this has happen already you will need to use nail polish remover. Blot the chemical onto the spot and then remove with a wet vac and slowly pour hot almost boiling water (from a kettle) on the spot and vacuum it up at the same time, (this will open up the dye ports on the carpet fibre releasing the stain. and remove the residue from the carpet).

using If the stain is still visible than repeat the nail polish and wet vac with the hot water.

OOPS. It's the best for removing things of this nature. Open some windows.
I wouldn't use polish remover, that will just spread the polish around more. I would try to pull off or scrape the dry polish as best as I can from the rug.
