How do you remove a thick splinter from a fingernail?

It is very slightly sticking outside of the fingernail and tweezers have been tried and cannot remove it.How do you remove a thick splinter from a fingernail?
Apply a paste made of baking powder and warm water and let it dry on it. Just repeat this as needed until the splinter surfaces adequately to be removed. but don't grasp it while it is wet, or it will just crumble. the paste will gradually draw it out. You can also soak it in warm Epsom salts which will also help to draw the s;linter out.How do you remove a thick splinter from a fingernail?
Use a sterilized (alcohol) needle to try and remove it - or enlarge the opening in the skin so that it will have more room should there be a jagged edge to the splinter -
use your teeth , a pin or a really thin tweezer. you could go to your doctor, they have sometimes things to get splinters out.

gud luck =]
try extra pointy tweezers, if not then go to either the docs or A+E.
