most people assume that the person is emo, i think not! i know plenty of people who paint their nails black, and they AREN'T emo. hey, i paint mine black!

Well that depends on their personality and what season it is. Goths and emo fashion statements usually do the black nails. Halloween prompts black nails sometimes. Some people just like to paint their nails black. It just depends on who you talk to.
Mostly it's a fashion statement, but sometimes it means that they are emo or goth, especially for guys.
it dosent mean anything. It is like painting their nails any other color. It is very widely used on the runways, and so every year after fashion week, you will see many people with black nails.... but it is no doffrent then pink polish... just a color.
It's just a personal choice. I wear black polish sometimes, and I am not ';emo';, (Is anyone else sick of that term/label?!) Black is just a nice accent for nails, I don't think it has any specific meaning, although I can't speak for everyone who paints their nails black : )

It means the same thing as when they paint their nails green, pink, yellow, red, or anything.

i currently have black fingernails...i've had them white or black since september...to me its just a fashion statement..not my mood...im not permanently dismal. if you've seen the fashion runways..blacks just another color
Black nail polish is just a fashion statement. I personally think black is an excellent color for nail polish.
