It is a time consuming process but you can use fingernail polish remover, or stronger acetone. Put some on a white rag and dab at the fingernail polish. Do not rub, just keep dabbing until all the polish is out. Then wipe the area with plain water to remove any of the acetone or polish remover.
Do not use a colored version of fingernail polish remover
