Half of my middle fingernail had a fungus and yesterday I decided to cut it all and I was left with half of a fingernail and I wanted to know how long it would take my fingernail to grow back.

10 points who ever gives me a good answer and it has to be true and please don't play around. How long will it take my fingernail to grow after cutting it????????
Nails, like hair, grow from the matrix. As older cells grow out, they are replaced by newer ones, they are compacted and take on a hardened form. The average growth rate for nails is 0.1 mm each day; individual rates depend on age, time of year, activity level, and heredity. Fingernails grow faster than toenails. Nails also grow more rapidly in the summer than in the winter. Nails on a person's dominant hand (right vs. left) grow faster, and men's nails grow more quickly than women's, except possibly during pregnancy and old age. Nail growth is affected by disease, hormone imbalance, and the aging process. How long will it take my fingernail to grow after cutting it????????
watch and see, then give us a report. How often do you cut your nails? that should give you a good idea on how long it will take.
Well if we talking about the middle finger thats the second biggest nail on your hand or toe after the thumb. I will say from past experience that it will take about 2 to 4 weeks for it to grow to normal size.
For girls it takes about two weeks to grow back. but for guys i takes a little longer
I unfortunately caught my finger in the chain of a bike turned upside down and had the tip of my finger severed. After the tip was sewn back on my fingernail fell off and I had to wait about 4 months before it grew back all the way. I qould estimate a 2 month time table for your nail to grow back but as another poster said, everyone has a differing healing process but on the average we are all about the same. Good luck and be patient even though I know it is difficult healing process to wait thru.
The answer to this question is akin to the answer to the question 'How long is a piece of string?' You'll find that everybody's fingernail growth rates are different. It also depends how much fingernail you wish to grow. Some people leave their nails grow way passed the tips of their fingers (particularly females) and others prefer to cut them short. I have estimated (not a guess, mind you) that my thumbnail (right hand) is 16mm long. By memory it takes around 6-7 days for 3mm of growth to form. This quite obviously means that if I were to cut my nail right back to the skin and let it regrow it would take around one month (maybe slightly longer) for my thumbnail to regrow. I've also noticed in the past that my nails do not grow at the same rate. In conclusion the best way to find this out for yourself is to decide the question you want to answer and measure it on yourself.
It takes times to grow.
